Mentor Training

Woman To Woman Mentor Training
Wednesday, May 24th, 2023 • 5:00PM - 7:00PM

Dinner provided

Being able to talk to someone who understands your situation is priceless. I wished I had that kind of support when I underwent treatment several years ago.

Our Woman to Woman mentor program pairs newly diagnosed gynecologic cancer patients, or patients who are currently in treatment, with survivors who provide understanding, hope, support, and  encouragement. If you had a gynecologic cancer diagnosis and are one-year post-treatment, consider becoming a volunteer mentor.

Mentors are matched with patients based on diagnosis, age, and patient preferences, providing a perspective that can only come from someone who has “been there – done that.” As a mentor, you always have the option to accept or decline a match.

Our monthly Saturday Survivor Network meetings provide opportunities for mentors to connect with other survivors and also receive ongoing training related to self-care measures and coping strategies that benefit both the mentor and mentee.

Training is held in Colorado Springs at our office in The Next Us building. Because we provide peer support for women throughout Colorado, we welcome and encourage mentors outside of the Colorado Springs area to consider becoming a mentor, as you can participate in the training  and Survivor Network meetings via Zoom.
